The HTC Jetstream is the latest addition the line of tablet computers available in today’s consumer market. It has made a lot of noise upon its release due to its 4G capability, something not available among its contemporaries such as the iPad2, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy. It may serve as the tech junkie’s new portable best friend due to its long battery life, Android Honeycomb OS and connectivity options and clear crystal LED display. But of course, the HTC Jetstream’s built in features may be further maximized by the means of accessories, such as:
1. microSD Memory Card. The Jetstream already has a built in storage space of 32GB, but it can be further expanded for another 32 GB by means of a microSD card. Users may choose from a variety of memory cards available in the market depending on their preferences, but of course it is much recommended to go for the 32GB storage to enjoy maximum space to accommodate all sorts of files you want to play on your tablet.
2. HDMI Cable. Those who want to connect their Jetstream to bigger multimedia devices such as projectors or large-screen monitors may use an HDMI cable. The Jetstream has an HMDI slot which accommodates the cable to serve as a link towards other multimedia systems for better projection and file playback.
3. 3.5mm Wired Headsets. While the Jetstream is equipped with built-in loudspeakers, there are places in which users may want to listen to sounds or watch videos, such as in public areas or indoor spaces such as coffee shops. In this case, the Jetstream may be attached with 3.5mm wired headsets for more private listening. There are no specific brands recommended to keep up with this tablet, as long as they are equipped with the necessary details required by the unit.
4. Battery chargers. In the purchase package, the HTC Jetstream is packed with an AC charger that is used to bring back the tablet’s batter power. Charging may take up to 2 hours to complete, and users may once again enjoy up to 15 hours of nonstop usage. It is recommended not to use the tablet during charging, as it may cause the battery to overwork and in turn lose its ability to carry enough power. There are also car chargers for the HTC Jetstream, but they are sold separately.
5. Cover cases. Users who want to protect their Jetstream units in rather fashionable ways may select from rubber, leather or silicone cases. These cases are sold separately, although a leather sleeve comes with the purchase package. Silicone cases are preferred by most users because of their durability and shock-resistant properties; however they are available limited colors and shades. Leather cases tend to be more stylish, while rubber casings also protect the tablet from shock.
With the abovementioned accessories, the HTC Jetstream becomes more adaptable to different environments. Users get to better enjoy the tablet’s features anytime, anywhere. And given that 4G connectivity will become more available to the American mass market in the upcoming weeks the Jetstream will sure serve as main tablet to be used to enjoy this development in internet technology.

The HTC Jetstream is the latest tablet console released in the consumer market today. A 10-inch tablet, it offers various features such as continuous media playback, up to 15 hours of battery life, and most of all, 4G capability. However, this tablet was launched at a hefty $700 ($900 under contract), giving interested buyers second thoughts about purchasing this product.
But the truth of the matter is, the HTC Jetstream is not overpriced. Indeed the initial cost of this tablet is quite hot on the budget, but it is best to think of it as an investment. Here are the top five reasons to believe so:
1. It accommodates 4G connectivity. 4G connectivity has been the talk of the town during the past few months, but only a few telecoms have opted to provide such feature to their subscribers. In the United States, AT&T will be the first major telecommunications company to provide 4G internet to their data plans. Of course, tablets that do not have 4G capability will not be able to enjoy such feature, and the Jetstream will be the first to bring this feature to the consumer market.
2. Stronger battery life. The iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, and Samsung Galaxy offer up to 10 hours of battery life and up to 30 hours of standby time. In contrast, the HTC Jetstream can be used nonstop for up to 15 hours, and it allows up to 40 hours of standby time. Those who are into movie marathons will totally enjoy using the Jetstream as it can keep up with their usage demands.
3. Crispier display. One advantage of the Jetstream compared to other brands is that it has better-powered LED display. The iPad 2 only has a 9.5 inch display and a lower resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The Motorola Xoom meanwhile offers the same display resolution. The Jetstream has a 10.1 inch display and 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, the same with the currently available Samsung Galaxy. The Jetstream also wins in camera category, as it boasts an 8MP rear cameral with zoom features and LED flash, while its competitors only possess up to 4MP rear cameras. Front cameras meanwhile tend to be almost the same.
4. Connectivity. If there’s one reason that boosts a tablet’s price, that would be its connectivity options. The Xoom tends to cost cheaper (at $499 purchase price) mainly because of its limited internet connectivity. In contrast, the iPad costs more not just because of its increased connectivity features but for its reputation. Indeed the Jetstream runs at the same pace as the Galaxy, but with its 4G technology, it still gets to enjoy the top spot.
5. Honeycomb OS. If you are looking for a tablet that not only has great specs but more importantly compatibility in accommodating software programs similar to that of a laptop, then the Jetstream proves to be the top choice. Indeed it shares the same OS as Xoom and Galaxy, as the iPad 2 has its own iOS, but the Jetstream still wins the race as it offers a better variety of usable programs with all of its features combined.

It has been said at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 that we are already in the age of tablet technology. However, it will still take time before tablets will become more affordable to the consumer market. And it seems that the prophecy has started to take place. Last September 4, 2011, HTC has released its latest tablet product, the Jeststream, which is initially available on AT&T.
The HTC Jetstream, nicknamed Puccini, is a 10.1 inch tablet that runs under the Android Honeycomb operating system. Because of its chosen OS, this tablet has become one of the first consoles that works effectively with the AT&T “true 4G” LTE network, which will soon be available to the market before the year ends.
With the 4G connectivity brewing for release, it is expected that the HTC Jetstream will become a mainstream hit among tablet users as it is capable of accommodating faster internet connection and more stable data packet reception.
General Specs
The HTC Jetstream offers 4G capabilities but at the same time it is equipped with other connectivity options such as 3G, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, and GPS with maps. It has a 32 GB solid state disk and at the same time accommodates up to 32 GB from a microSD memory card. This tablet also has a USB and HDMI slot which allows further multimedia features.
Users will also love the Jetstream’s battery life; it contains a 7300 MAH standard battery that allows up to 15 hours of nonstop usage. If you are looking for a tablet that will serve as your all-in-one media player, then this will serve such purpose.
Media Display and Social Apps
The HTC Jetstream, as mentioned earlier, has a 10.1 inch touch display and a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Among its main media features include the light sensor, multi-touch function and the accelerometer.
This tablet also comes with two cameras. One is a rear camera with 8 megapixel resolution and LED flash, while the front camera is of 1.3 megapixels and located near the speaker to accommodate video calling.
Like its other market contemporaries, the Jetstream has an MP3 and MP4 player which allows users to play songs and watch videos; it also allows YouTube videos to be played on screen. It as well has a built-in loudspeaker and a 3.5mm connector jack. Users will definitely have fun playing media files on this tablet during their free time.
Since it is a tablet that is designed to promote the latest social engagement applications, the HTC Jetstream equipped with various social networking programs such as FaceBook, Twitter, Google Search, Gmail, MySpace, GTalk, Picasa, and YouTube, to name few.
An unlocked HTC Jetstream allows users to tinker with a web browser, document viewer, and enjoy HTML-based protocols. It is also packed with other features such as built-in games, Photocall, Email and SMS.
Cost
At its initial release, the HTC Jetstream is priced at roughly $700. Data plans will be charged separately by AT&T, thus monthly costs may soar up to more or less $800. As of this writing, this tablet is only available in the United States and only via AT&T.
